A Greek with common sense can only feel disgust with the predicament of the Institutions of the European Union and the idea of Europe itself. Having experienced down to the marrow the financial suffocation of our country by "our partners" (those "civilized" gentlemen with suits and ties), we are now disillusioned about the Eurozone and Europe itself.
It seems to me that the former was set up and tuned up to function as a pyramid of power, with Germany at the top and the countries of the south at the bottom. This is a classical example where those at the highest place exploit all the rest below them. In other words the Eurozone is a mechanism which creates and perpetuates injustice which ultimately leads to friction and dismemberment of the foundation upon which this mechanism rests (the EU). The European Central Bank, the Deutsche Bank and the IMF have orchestrated a massive attack on the people of Greece. Through all major electronic and print media (owned by a few people) they use slander, stereotyping, misleading information and lies in order to turn the rest of the Europeans (and the world) against Greece. Never in the past fifty years has a country received so much global attention than Greece. The idea is that Greece must become an example to all countries whose people dare raise their voices for better living conditions and dignity. The economic elite has chosen to save the banks (their money deposits) at the expense of the people. Those who resist are slandered and punished.
Wolfgang Schäuble, acting on behalf of the German elite, has a leading role in furthering the "demise" of Greece, just as his Nazi ancestors did in 1941. Let us hope that his plans will fail.
Greece is being punished because its people opted to put an end to austerity which benefits the bankers at the expense of thousands of human lives. The people of Greece voted for a leftist government which promised to restore their dignity and bring back hope for better days.
